Recent security breaches have made headlines - from RSA to NASDAQ to Google - leaving many organizations wondering if they will be next. One new way of attacking networks is Advanced Evasion Techniques (AETs), which combine new methods of disguise with already known evasion techniques and can circumvent virtually any network security solution. The number of AETs and their possible combinations are almost limitless, so they can easily bypass even cutting-edge IPS technologies. Is your IPS solution vulnerable? Join Stonesoft for a live demo session and find out.

Endpoint security risks - especially from endpoint targeted malware - are worse than ever and there is no single silver bullet to the rescue. Instead you must implement a defense-in-depth approach that goes beyond standalone anti-virus, which has proven to be decreasing in its effectiveness against today's targeted and blended attacks.

Agency representatives will discuss their Telework week experiences, share methods of managing remote workers, review lessons learned from Telework Week, and discuss how remote technology enabled seamless communication with employees. For more information & to register, please visit the link above.

They say the only constant is change. In information security, threat vectors keep changing and attackers keep finding the security gaps in old and new technologies. Is the current cloud paradigm yet another example of this? Has the cloud paradigm introduced issues which show that the security industry keeps playing catch-up or are things really changing? In an attempt to demonstrate this, this session will discuss the Cloud threats and current security methods.

October 20-21, 2011 the information security community will come together to build a roadmap for the next decade. Be proactive, shape your security programs and career to create the future you want. Noted experts, executive leaders, and innovative professionals will lead sessions to help you be effective today and lay the foundation for the future.

GTRA / Lumension Breakfast Workshop: Developing a Proactive Security Posture
June 8, 2011 | 8am-11am | Washington, DC

As threats continue to increase in both magnitude and 'mal-itude', traditional, reactive approaches are consuming the energy and resources of government security organizations, without success. Weakened strategy, rising help desk calls, and lost productivity are tough to defend in the CIO's office, particularly as the agency and department's IT security budget are reduced.

Join an exclusive group of your peers for a complimentary breakfast program centered on the impact of Web 2.0 technologies and why their broad adoption leads us to the need for proactive (trust-centric) vs.reactive (threat-centric) solutions. At the meeting, we will discuss:
  • Effective security policy definition
  • Reducing endpoint security complexity
  • Prevention of unauthorized applications execution
  • Integrating the best of both blacklisting and whitelisting
  • Reducing operational costs associated with endpoint management

Join us for breakfast and conversation about a key new security that has "turned a corner and is coming out of the "trough of disillusionment" on the Gartner hype cycle '', according to Neil MacDonald, Gartner VP and Fellow - http://blogs.gartner.com/neil_macdonald/2010/05/11/application-control-whitelisting-interest-is-growing-rapidly

This event is FREE for government employees

8:00am - 9:00am: Breakfast

9:00 am - 11:00am: Workshop
