UC Davis Extension Tackles Device Management and Corporate Compliance with MaaS360

UC Davis Extension had a problem: a lack of visibility into an install base that was often remote, and an understaffed IT department responsible for corporate compliance and device management. Facilities Resource Specialist Jason Yandel had to be sure all laptops were in compliance with University cyber security guidelines, such as operating system patching and security application updates. But some of the laptops were gone for up to a full month without being seen. Jason estimated that he was spending about 28 hours a week tracking down laptops and performing compliance assessment tasks. This made it virtually impossible to monitor devices and proactively manage hardware and software configurations. To solve the problems of time and endpoint compliance issues, UC Davis Extension turned to the MaaS360 Visibility and Control Services.
