Feds to Increase IT Investments to Support Telework

Telework Exchange, a public-private partnership focused on telework in government, today announced the results of the Federal telework investment study, “What’s in Your Portfolio? Federal Telework Investment Roadmap.” The study reveals that telework is becoming a significant Information Technology (IT) purchasing factor in the Federal government with 52 percent of Federal IT decision makers reporting they consider telework requirements when making IT infrastructure decisions.

Research Shows Increase in Federal Employee Mobility – 82 Percent of Feds Spend Work Time Outside of the Office Each Month

Telework Exchange, a public-private partnership focused on telework in government, today announced the results of the “Out of the Office: Federal Mobile Workforce Trends” study. The study reveals 82 percent of polled Feds spend work time outside of the office each month (includes telework, travel, meetings in other locations, etc.) and 29 percent say they spend more time working outside of the office today than they did this time last year. Further, Federal employees who use a smartphone for work purposes report an average time savings/productivity gain of 54 minutes per day.

Spring 2009 Telework Exchange Town Hall Meeting

Telework Exchange will host the Spring Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 to discuss best practices in telework, how to utilize existing resources to build a telework program, as well as how agencies are establishing and expanding telework programs within the Federal government.

Telework Exchange, a public-private partnership focused on telework in government, will release the "Straight Talk on Telework Technology" paper at the Fall 2008 Telework Exchange Town Hall Meeting in Washington D.C. on October 15th.
